Our outing started with cool morning temperatures around 55°F, warming into the low 70s by midday. Slight overcast skies and a mild breeze made for comfortable fishing conditions. The water temperature hovered between 65–67°F—ideal for active bass feeding patterns. We focused on the mid-lake hydrilla patches and grass edges near drop-offs, where we located multiple schools of quality largemouth bass.

Successful Techniques & Lures

• Shallow Crankbaits: Early in the morning, we had success throwing shallow-running crankbaits (chartreuse patterns) along weed lines. Bass were hitting aggressively in 4–6 feet of water.
• Texas-Rigged Plastics: Midday, the bite slowed down slightly, so we switched to Texas-rigged worms in green pumpkin. Targeting submerged vegetation and brush piles in 8–10 feet of water brought steady action.
• Topwater Plugs: As the sun peaked and the breeze died down, sporadic schooling behavior near the surface allowed for exciting strikes on poppers and walk-the-dog lures.
